  WHAT'S NEW

"MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE"

Pilgrim is supporting a Micah Challenge Australia initiative to sign messages asking federal Members of Parliament to give greater priority to implementing international development assistance programs that improve maternal and child health. The messages are put in bottle and sent or presented to the local MP and/or government ministers/secretaries. The United Nations Millennium Development Goals 4 & 5 relating to maternal and child health are the goals on which the least progress has been made since 2000.

PILGRIM PATCHWORKERS - OUTREACH PROJECT FOR 2008

The Patchwork group decided as their outreach project for 2008 is to make knee quilts for Pilgrim members who are now in aged care facilities. We want these church members to know that they are loved and cared for with a warm knee quilt, which is a way of showing they are not forgotten and we support them from our church.

The Patchwork group have been making lap quilts from six inch cotton fabric squares with a variety of patterns, colours and tones.   The lap quilts are about 1 metres by 1 ½ metres which is a good size to give warmth over some ones knees.  The photos show you the variety of squares that make up the quilts, much of the fabrics have been donated by church members, which has been a great help to the group.

Members of the Pilgrim Patchworkers are Lynda Anderson, Megan Coote, Susan Ferres, Elizabeth Jungwirth, Barbara Mann, Beth Coote, Jodi Lanyon, Cath Barnard, Barbara Sutherland, Lois Myers  and we welcome Jenny Ellis and Elinor Rowe to our group in 2008.

The Patchworkers share skills and help each other in many ways; it is a most supportive and encouraging group.

PENTECOST WORKSHOP

At Pentecost, the church celebrates the God's gift of the Holy Spirit to the world. The Holy Spirit helps us to fit together in God's family.

A MESSAGE OF HOPE

On Sunday 25th May at Pilgrim, Templestowe College Chaplain Julie Ramsay delivered a message of hope.  Click to hear Julie's message.

Pilgrim has been a long time supporter of the chaplaincy at Templestowe College and is represented on the Templestowe College Chaplaincy Committee by Anne Whincup and her mother, Mary.
