  VISION

The Vision Statement of Pilgrim Uniting Church, Doncaster

As a congregation of the Uniting Church in Australia, we are a faith community called to lovingly serve God and the whole of creation.

We are a pilgrim people, committed to developing resources, meaning and vigour for sustaining the journey towards a promised goal.

We will:

  • Celebrate our Christian faith in worship
  • Share with others our experiences of God's grace
  • Celebrate and affirm our diversity as we seek to live the Gospel
  • Help one another to grow in understanding what Christian discipleship demands of us; individually and collectively, locally and globally
  • Work towards the creation of a more whole society - reconciled and renewed - through meeting human needs, and healing the hurts caused by separation, injustice, oppression and disadvantage

This Vision Statement was the result of intensive research and prayerful struggling with the question of what God might be calling us to be and to do into the next century. It reflects the ways in which we believe God has already shaped us, as well as being a reference point for our worship, our decision-making, and our service and witness. It is used by the Church Council and all Groups within the congregation for their planning and for their reflection on their life and work. It is also appropriate for occasional use as a Statement of Faith.

As a means of implementing this vision a Strategic Plan 2006-2008  was approved by the Pilgrim Church council in December 2005. A summary of the plan may be seen by clicking here and a complete copy may be obtained by contacting the church office.
